Packed full of vitamins, proteins, minerals and sweet complex sugars, honey has been given the highest place as a healthy natural food in almost all ancient civilizations; Chinese Traditional Medicine, Ayurvedic Medicine, Islamic culture and also in modern medicine.

Honey contains a concentration of antioxidants, anti-inflammatory agents, antibacterial compounds, and other phytochemicals known to fight tumor growth and support cardiovascular health. In Ayurvedic medicine, Honey is also used to treat insomnia. Research has also found that Honey has anti-cancer activity similar to chemotherapy drugs.

Tualang Honey  Harvested from the Tualang Tree (Koompassia excelsa), which grows up to more than 100ft above the canopy of the rainforest. Tualang Honey has a dark, intense colour. The Giant Honey Bee or Rock Bee (Apis dorsata) makes huge, parabolic honeycombs, which hang from the highest branches of this tree. These bees are the largest honey bees in the world, twice the size of the European honey bee. When the Malaysian Rainforest blooms, the bees gather pollen from the rainforest blooms including from the wild durian trees, and produce more than 2000 kg of honey per tree. Each tree can have up to 100 hives. The indigenous people use ropes and climb up almost 200-300ft along this tree to harvest this precious honey from the highest branches. Tualang Honey has been used traditionally as a treatment for relieving sore throats and soothing cold symptoms. A modest amount has even been shown to stabilize blood sugar and lower blood pressure.

Tualang Royal Jelly From the deepest parts of the hives found on the Tualang Tree, where the queen bee resides, Tualang Royal Jelly is found. Royal Jelly is used by the honey bees to feed the queen as well as the young larval queens. Packed full of extra proteins and nutrients, it is produced especially to enhance the growth and productivity of the queen bee, who in turn determines the overall strength and health of the hive.

Tualang Royal Jelly is creamy yellow in colour and has a milder but more flowery taste.

Meliponine Honey is produced by Meliponini bees or Stingless bees. Meliponini bees are small bees that are found in tropical regions of the world. They produce very small amounts of honey compared with other species of honey bees. Meliponine Honey is very intense and concentrated compared to other types of honey and has been found to be more nutritious than other types of honey.   Meliponine Honey has been found to regulate blood sugar levels which makes it suitable for diabetics to consume, in addition to the other natural benefits of raw, wild honey such as antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant benefits.

Meliponine Honey has a flowery, sweetish-sourish almost citrusy flavor, and is clear and orangey in colour.

Occasionally, the Giant Honey Bee or Rock Bee (Apis dorsata) will build hives in caves or underground holes. These are very rare and only found occasionally. The Giant Honey Bee is the largest bee species in the world and their attack can be fatal. They can even sting through a fireman’s protective gear.

When the hives are built in caves, the honey absorbs the natural minerals found in the cave. The texture and colour of the honey also becomes more golden with some turbidity. The humidity within the cave also contributes to the variation of texture, taste and colour of Cave Honey.

Other than the Giant Honey Bee, other bee species found in the rainforests of Malaysia for example the Asian Honey Bee (Apis cerana). These bees make hives with small entrances to protect themselves from other bees or predators. The Asian Honey Bee flies almost 80km to harvest pollen from almost 1000 wild rainforest flowers to make 1kg of honey.

Golden Honey has all the natural benefits of pure, raw, wild honey, which includes antibacterial, anti-viral, anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties. In addition, the complex sugars in Golden Honey make it a healthy substitute for sweetening food and drinks.
